Corporate Controller

Position Summary

The Corporate Controller owns the company's accounting operations and monthly close, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and strong internal controls. This role partners closely with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, and supervises the accounting team. As Hirsch Solutions is a distribution business that sees itself first and foremost as a Sales Organization, the Controller must be comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales and Purchasing — supporting deal economics, equipment costing, and revenue recognition in a way that enables the sales team rather than slowing it down.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly Close & Accounting Operations (Primary Ownership)

● Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process end-to-end, hitting established deadlines.

● Direct daily accounting operations; maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.

● Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensure accurate revenue/expense recognition.

● Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

● Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reporting for executive leadership.

● Support annual financial statement preparation and budgeting/forecasting alongside the CFO.

Distribution & Equipment Accounting

● Account for the purchase of large machinery/equipment through the full cycle: purchase orders (accrued purchases GL account), ocean freight, customs, duties, and inbound logistics costing.

● Ensure landed cost, inventory valuation, and freight/customs accruals are accurately reflected in the books.

AR/AP, Payroll & Cash

● Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, cash receipts, vendor payments, and collections.
