Finance Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and oversee all finance and accounting operations for Kadokawa World Entertainment, Anime News Network, and Kadokawa Retail Ventures.
• Produce and review standalone and consolidated financial reporting packages, including narratives and variance analysis.
• Direct and oversee all accounting operations to include but not limited to A/R, A/P, Cash, T&E, cost accounting, accruals, settlements, inventory reconciliations, journal entries, bank reconciliations, financials, royalties, etc.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process for all entities.
• Prepare and deliver quarterly and annual consolidation and reporting packages for internal and external auditors and Group HQ in Japan.
• Ensure all transactions and financial statements are prepared accurately and in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Draft and prepare annual budgets, reforecasting, mid-term financial planning, and flash forecasts, and advise business management to support fiscal goals.
• Oversee retail finance activities, including inventory valuation and reserves, cost of goods sold, margin analysis, vendor and logistics accounting, and store and e-commerce sales reporting.
• Design, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls across all entities.
• Oversee tax compliance, including quarterly and year-end filings and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and review of general ledger entries, account and intercompany reconciliations, and month-end accounting activities.
• Improve performance by evaluating processes across various teams and service providers to drive efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
